We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting the monthly close, preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and established internal controls. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This is an open-ended contract opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Compile and analyze financial information for monthly and quarterly reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Review the recording and analysis of revenue and expenses
- Perform financial fluctuation and variance analysis
- Maintain accurate cash records and oversee timely cash deposits
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements
- Prepare schedules and documentation for financial audits
- Coordinate with external auditors and other business partners
- Help ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with internal controls
- Research technical accounting matters as needed
- Support special projects and ad hoc accounting requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statements
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with complex spreadsheets
- Ability to interpret financial statements, financial data, and key performance ratios
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the broader business
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- CPA, CPA candidate, or actively pursuing CPA licensure preferred
