Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight across the corporate accounting function and support accounting activities across manufacturing locations
- Partner closely with site controllers and plant leadership to drive consistency, accuracy, accountability, and timely financial reporting
- Lead and develop the corporate accounting team while helping strengthen technical capabilities across the broader organization
- Oversee the month-end close process, account reconciliations, and proper recording of financial activity within the ERP
- Review and provide guidance on complex or judgment-intensive accounting matters
- Serve as a key liaison with corporate accounting, shared services, internal audit, and external audit
- Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Partner with operations and finance leadership to ensure accounting provides meaningful support to the business
- Support continued growth and organizational change, including preparation for a future ERP implementation
- Develop talent within the accounting organization and create clear accountability and career development opportunities
- Provide accounting leadership and coverage across manufacturing locations as business needs arise
Ideal Background
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Previous Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
- CPA required
- Significant accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing/plant accounting
- Experience supporting a multi-site organization strongly preferred
- Oracle ERP experience preferred; Oracle R12 experience would be especially relevant
- ERP implementation or systems transformation experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and the month-end close process
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting professionals
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with both corporate and operational leadership
