We are looking for an experienced Network Architect to conduct a comprehensive review of two enterprise network environments in Hudson, New Hampshire. This Long-term Contract position will focus on evaluating architecture, security, segmentation, resiliency, and cloud preparedness while delivering clear recommendations for future improvements. The ideal consultant will bring an independent perspective, translate technical findings into practical guidance, and help shape a scalable network strategy that supports growth and integration.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a detailed assessment of both organizations’ network environments to identify design strengths, weaknesses, and operational concerns.
- Examine network topology, segmentation models, security safeguards, and core infrastructure components to determine overall effectiveness and stability.
- Compare flat and segmented network approaches, highlighting exposure areas, control gaps, and opportunities to strengthen protection and performance.
- Analyze the technical risks, dependencies, and constraints involved in bringing the two network environments together.
- Review firewall configurations within Fortinet platforms as well as Cisco-based switching and routing infrastructure to validate alignment with best practices.
- Evaluate data center connectivity, redundancy, recovery readiness, and resiliency measures to support business continuity objectives.
- Assess Azure networking readiness and propose practical options for expanding hybrid or public cloud capabilities.
- Develop a future-state architecture strategy with modernization recommendations that improve scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Present findings, priorities, and strategic guidance to both leadership stakeholders and technical teams in a clear, actionable format.
- At least 5 years of experience in network architecture or advanced network engineering roles.
- Strong background designing and evaluating enterprise network architecture, including segmentation and security strategy.
- Demonstrated expertise with Cisco networking technologies across routing and switching environments.
- Hands-on experience administering and reviewing Fortinet firewall implementations.
- Working knowledge of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity planning.
- Familiarity with data center networking, resiliency design, and disaster recovery considerations.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, technical documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience supporting acquisition-related network assessments or integration planning is preferred.
