Robert Half is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to take ownership of its internal technology environment as services transition in-house from a Managed Service Provider (MSP). This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys building, improving, and owning IT operations while supporting both office and field-based employees. This role is ideal for a technically strong IT professional who has personally managed infrastructure, security, Microsoft 365, user support, networking, and day-to-day IT operations in a small to mid-sized business environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the company's Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and overall IT infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary IT resource supporting approximately 400 employees, including executives, office staff, and field personnel.
- Administer user accounts, onboarding/offboarding, security groups, permissions, and access controls.
- Configure and manage Windows endpoints, mobile devices, and endpoint security solutions.
- Support and maintain firewalls, networking equipment, wireless infrastructure, VPNs, and internet connectivity.
- Implement and manage cybersecurity measures including MFA, Conditional Access, patching, and security best practices.
- Lead the transition of IT services from the current MSP and assume full ownership of the environment.
- Maintain IT documentation, asset inventory, disaster recovery procedures, and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, software providers, telecommunications partners, and future IT service providers.
- Identify and implement improvements that enhance reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Help build and scale the internal IT function, including future team growth.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure, systems administration, or IT management experience (IN SMALLER ENVIRONMENTS PREFERRED)
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Strong knowledge of Windows environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, endpoint management, and user administration.
- Experience managing firewalls, networking, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, and security controls.
- Experience implementing MFA, Conditional Access, endpoint security, and access management best practices.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot, research, and resolve technical issues.
- Experience working with or transitioning services from an MSP preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to support users at all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a PLUS!
