We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end multi-state payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing exceptional customer support to their employees.

salary: $35 - $40 per hour shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM education: High School
Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Timely and accurate end-to-end processing of bi-weekly/monthly payroll for multi-state employees.
- Compliance & Auditing: Audit timecard entries, tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefit deductions to maintain strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Employee Support: Serve as the main point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
- Reporting & Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll general ledger entries, prepare payroll reports for management/finance, and assist with year-end processing (W-2s, 1095-Cs, etc.).
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll workflows, system integration, and reporting efficiency.
