MAINTENANCE TECHNICAN

NOW HIRING – DIRECT HIRE Maintenance Technician Industrial Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed production equipment in a folding carton manufacturing facility. Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Schedule: 6pm–6am (12-hr PM shifts, rotating schedule, weekends off). Overtime & flexibility required. Pay: $38–$44/hr Industry: Folding Carton | Packaging | Manufacturing | Printing Role Summary Seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for direct-hire roles in Elk Grove Village, IL. Support high-speed folding carton manufacturing through electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, PMs, repairs, and plant reliability improvements. 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred. Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical production machinery.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance.
• Diagnose electrical issues; repair motors, controls, and components.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems to isolate equipment faults.
• Rebuild mechanical systems including pumps, motors, shafts, and hydraulics.
• Read electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Track work orders, parts, and logs via CMMS.
• Operate machine tools (grinders, drill presses, welding equipment).
• Support facility shutdowns, startups, and plant projects
• Follow safety, food quality, and operating standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 4+ years industrial mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
• strong troubleshooting background with high-speed manufacturing machinery.
• Knowledge of motors, pumps, alignment, hydraulics, and pneumatics/plumbing.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems.
• Proficient reading schematics and blueprints.
• Basic welding/machining skills; must own personal repair tools.
• Basic MS Office skills; strong independent problem-solving.
• Preferred: Folding carton/printing packaging background, PLC programming, or HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Electrical troubleshooting, installing and repairing all electrical devices within the plant.
• Performing breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, etc. on all production equipment, utilities, building/grounds, etc.
• Completing parts requisitions, work orders, time sheets, in Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Mechanical troubleshooting, replace, repair and rebuild equipment in a timely manner.
• Responsible for equipment and building within both Elk Grove and Westfield facilities.
• Working independently and on teams.
• Demonstrating safe work practices.
• Use PLCs for routine troubleshooting.
• Understand and complete all associated paperwork.
• Adhere to preventative/predictive maintenance schedules.
• Read and work from mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Plant shutdown/startups for Holidays.

The essential functions of this role include:
