Overview:
We are seeking a Java Software Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable applications that power critical business capabilities across one of the largest financial services organizations in the industry. You will work alongside engineers, product owners, architects, and business partners to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
This opportunity goes beyond writing code. You will participate in backlog refinement, solution design, and sprint planning to help shape technical solutions from concept through production. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building high-quality software, and continuously improving engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Relevant experience in software engineering, application development, or a related technical discipline
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting software applications
- Experience working within Agile software delivery teams
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience developing applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and service-based architectures
- Experience developing microservices and distributed applications
- Experience working with relational databases and data access frameworks
- Experience implementing automated testing using modern testing frameworks and tools
- Experience integrating applications through messaging, event-driven patterns, or asynchronous processing technologies
- Experience working with source control, build automation, and CI/CD platforms
- Familiarity with containerization and cloud-native development practices
- Exposure to frontend development technologies such as Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar frameworks
- Understanding of secure software development practices and application security principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
