Kforce has a client that is seeking a Risk Advisory Associate/Senior Associate in Tampa Bay/Saint Petersburg, FL. This role is temp-to hire and follows a flexible hybrid schedule.
Overview:
We are seeking a Risk Advisory Associate or Senior Associate to join a growing advisory practice supporting clients with internal controls, SOX compliance, and risk management initiatives. This opportunity offers hands-on client experience, professional development, and the potential to transition into a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance testing and internal control evaluations
- Conduct process walkthroughs and document control procedures
- Identify control deficiencies and communicate findings
- Prepare and maintain audit workpapers and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with clients and engagement managers on risk advisory projects
- Support internal audit and process improvement initiatives
- Hands-on experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance testing, including evaluating internal controls and documenting testing results
- Experience performing process walkthroughs, identifying key controls, and assessing control design and operating effectiveness
- Experience preparing audit workpapers, maintaining supporting documentation, and ensuring testing is completed accurately and on schedule
- Strong understanding of internal audit procedures, risk assessments, and internal control frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to identify control deficiencies, document findings, and communicate recommendations to clients and engagement managers
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements, prioritize deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Comfortable working in a flexible hybrid environment, including occasional onsite client meetings in the Tampa Bay area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in risk advisory, internal audit, public accounting, or consulting
- Experience supporting SOX compliance programs for publicly traded companies
- Experience working directly with clients across multiple industries
- Familiarity with business process improvements, control remediation, and audit readiness
- Interest in professional development and long-term advancement within a growing advisory practice

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
