We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a high-volume printing business in Plymouth, Michigan. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who can manage core accounting operations, maintain accurate inventory-related reporting, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced environment. The role will play a key part in strengthening financial consistency across the organization while supporting daily and month-end accounting activities. This is an ON-SITE position.
The day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation and configuration of QuickBooks Enterprise, including accounting data alignment and process standardization efforts.
- Assist with system-related accounting initiatives tied to the transition from Great Plains to QuickBooks, helping prepare for a targeted go-live timeline.
- Support general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables.
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy and resolve discrepancies affecting financial statements or subledger balances.
- Maintain inventory accounting records and monitor work-in-progress balances to support accurate costing and reporting.
- Analyze financial data in Excel to identify variances, improve reporting accuracy, and support operational decision-making.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to promote consistent accounting practices.
The ideal candidate will have the following skillsets:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a senior-level or closely related role.
- Experience leading system implementation or accounting software setup projects.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Enterprise in a business setting.
- Strong background in month-end close and general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory accounting processes.
- Advanced Excel skills for analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Understanding of work-in-progress accounting within a high-volume operational environment.
