We are looking for a NOC Technician to support network operations and help maintain reliable system performance for a long-term contract opportunity in Somerset, New Jersey. This role is suited for someone who can monitor infrastructure activity, respond to service issues efficiently, and contribute to stable connectivity across wireless and cable-based environments. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical knowledge, sound troubleshooting ability, and a proactive approach to operational support.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor network and system activity to identify outages, performance concerns, and service disruptions in a timely manner.
- Investigate alerts and operational incidents, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues when needed.
- Support connectivity across wireless environments, including WAP and WPAN-related components, to help maintain dependable communications.
- Use diagnostic and maintenance utilities in Windows-based environments to assess system health and resolve technical problems.
- Assist with the setup, inspection, and validation of cable assemblies and related physical network connections.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and recurring issues to improve visibility and support continuous operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams to restore services quickly and minimize downtime for supported environments.
- Experience working in a Network Operations Center or similar technical monitoring environment.
- Working knowledge of Windows-based support tools, including system utility applications.
- Familiarity with Wireless Application Protocol and Wireless Personal Area Network technologies.
- Understanding of cable assemblies and basic physical network infrastructure components.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and respond effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills for documenting incidents and collaborating with support teams.
- Availability to work in a long-term contract position based in Somerset, New Jersey.
