General Laborer (Temporary) Location: University Park, IL Start Date: Thursday, October 29, 2026 (2 Weeks) Position Type: Temporary / Contract (10 Openings Available) Position Overview PrideStaff is currently hiring 10 dependable, hardworking Temporary General Laborers for an upcoming project at a commercial logistics facility in University Park, IL. In this role, you will assist with the removal of existing warehouse floor striping and line markings. Full training will be provided on-site. We are primarily looking for reliable individuals who are ready to work, follow safety instructions, and show up on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manual Scraping: Manually scrape and remove existing floor striping, tape, and markings across the facility floor.
- Chemical Cleaning & Surface Prep: Safely apply cleaning products and stripping chemicals to assist with line removal.
- Equipment Operation: Operate commercial floor scrubbers to clean surfaces and aid in the striping removal process (on-site training provided).
- General Site Support: Assist with debris clean-up, sweeping, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all on-site safety protocols and material-handling guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Dependability: Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and punctuality.
- Physical Capabilities: Comfortable with repetitive physical tasks such as scraping, bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
- Coachability: Willing to learn, listen to directions, and follow on-site instructions.
- Team-Oriented: Able to work effectively alongside a 10-person crew.
Required Work Attire & Safety Gear (PPE)
Worker-Provided (Must arrive wearing):
- Safety Vest: High-visibility safety vest (required).
- Footwear: Sturdy work boots or closed-toe work shoes (slip-ons are not permitted).
- Pants: Long pants (shorts are not permitted).
Provided On-Site:
- Additional PPE: Safety glasses and protective gloves will be provided on-site as needed for the safe handling of cleaning products.
