Job Description
The Senior Planning & Implementation Engineer III will serve as a senior technical resource supporting BAU planning and implementation activities across legacy local network infrastructure, with an emphasis on critical services and customer-impacting circuits. This role requires deep knowledge of POTS, DSL, TDM and legacy telecommunications infrastructure, along with experience recognizing and appropriately handling critical services such as 911, SS7, FAA and TSP. The engineer will provide the technical depth needed to ensure sensitive circuits and network dependencies are appropriately understood before implementation activities occur.
Responsibilities
Support complex BAU network planning and implementation activities across legacy local network infrastructure. Analyze POTS, DSL, TDM and other legacy network technologies and their associated dependencies. Identify and appropriately handle critical and customer-impacting circuits. Evaluate network activities involving critical services, including 911, SS7, FAA and TSP. Review circuit paths, network records and technical documentation before changes are implemented. Assess dependencies and potential service impacts associated with network changes, migrations, grooming or disconnect activities. Translate complex planning requirements into implementation activities. Provide technical guidance to planning, implementation and field teams. Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex legacy-network issues. Support circuit grooming, network cleanup, migrations and legacy infrastructure optimization. Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure established planning and implementation processes are followed. Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to less-experienced engineering resources.
This role will pay $44.10-$80/hr.
