Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help develop new and existing product lines for a leading warhead manufacturer in Austin, TX. You will:
- Own the design of munition subsystems end to end: cases and structures, fragmentation and energetics packaging, and interfaces to fuzes and host platforms.
- Build and run FEA, including shock and transient loading, document assumptions and results, and correlate them with test data
- Lead prototype builds and range tests with machinists, technicians, production, and the range team, and turn data into design changes.
- Design for production with suppliers and our production team: DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and material and process selection.
- Write and own the documentation that comes with engineering (test reports, ECOs, drawing releases, procedures), roughly 30 to 40 percent of the job.
- Review the work of Mechanical Engineer I teammates and help build our written design standards.
