Your new company Henderson Building Solutions (HBS) is the general contracting division of Henderson Companies, a nationally recognized, 100% employee-owned (ESOP) organization headquartered in Kansas City. With over 1,000 employees across its engineering and professional services divisions and a growing construction team of more than 130 professionals, HBS delivers complex commercial and mission-critical construction projects across the United States. Having established its Northern Virginia presence four years ago and recently opened a new office in Chantilly, the business is experiencing rapid growth, primarily supporting hyperscale data center clients including AWS. With local revenues exceeding $24M in 2025 and already surpassing its $30M target for 2026 through secured work, HBS is well-positioned for continued expansion throughout the mission-critical sector. Your new role As a Superintendent, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of mission-critical and data center construction projects throughout Northern Virginia. Reporting into local leadership, you will oversee daily field operations, coordinate subcontractors and trade partners, maintain project schedules, enforce site safety standards, and ensure quality execution from project inception through completion. Initially, projects will focus on data center renovations, retrofits, and live-environment work, with future opportunities to support larger-scale greenfield developments as the business continues to grow. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience as a Superintendent on mission critical, data center, or complex commercial construction projects. You should possess strong leadership and communication skills, a thorough understanding of construction sequencing and site logistics, and the ability to manage subcontractors while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule expectations. Experience working in active facilities, coordinating MEP-intensive scopes, and delivering projects within fast-paced client environments such as hyperscale data centers will be highly advantageous. What you'll get in return In return, you'll join a rapidly growing organization that combines the stability of an established national business with the opportunity to help shape an expanding regional operation. You'll receive a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $155,000 depending on experience, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, annual performance bonuses, and access to the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), making you a beneficial owner of the business after one year of service. Additional benefits include FSA and HSA programs, generous PTO and sick leave, and the choice between a company vehicle or vehicle allowance.
