Your New Role As an Estimator, reporting directly to the Vice President of Estimating, you will play a critical role in the preparation of competitive bids for large‑scale heavy civil infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for developing detailed estimates across a range of project types, including bridges, highways, tunnels and underground utilities.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience
- Proven experience estimating projects valued at $10M+
- Experience working for a heavy civil general contractor.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex contract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Experience preparing unit price and lump‑sum estimates, including production crews, equipment, and material costing
- Proficiency with heavy civil estimating software (HCSS preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Ability to work within a team‑oriented estimating group, including joint venture pursuits
