Staff Accountant – Lexington, KY Direct Hire | Onsite | $55,000 - $75,000 Vaco is partnering with a client in the Lexington area to identify a Staff Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on general ledger work, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting while continuing to grow their career.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close.
- Reconcile bank, general ledger, and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Research account variances and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
- Assist with audit requests and other accounting projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ years of accounting experience; strong recent graduates may also be considered.
- Understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; ERP or accounting-system experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across a team.
