Job Description:
A well-established healthcare and senior living organization is seeking a Billing / Accounts Receivable Specialist for a temporary assignment of approximately six months. This role will support a centralized billing team serving multiple nursing home locations. The position is primarily focused on private-pay billing and collections, with limited Medicare and Medicaid activity, so strong communication and customer service skills are especially important. The team is open to candidates with prior healthcare billing experience, as well as more junior candidates who have healthcare administrative or reception experience and are looking to grow into billing.
Responsibilities
- Support billing and accounts receivable activity for multiple nursing home locations.
- Process and review private-pay billing.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and assist with collections-related communication.
- Respond to billing questions from residents, families, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with account follow-up and issue resolution.
- Use Excel, email, and internal systems to track billing activity.
- Support the Billing Manager and centralized billing team with additional administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Healthcare experience is required.
- 1–2 years of billing, accounts receivable, or collections experience preferred.
- Experience with medical, hospital, senior living, nursing home, or other healthcare billing is strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking with residents and families regarding billing matters.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Basic Excel and email skills.
- PointClickCare experience is helpful but not required.
