Irvine, CA (Onsite) Temp-to-Hire Opportunity Future Hybrid Potential W2 Only | No C2C Arrangements
We are partnering with a growing, project-driven organization in Irvine seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an onsite opportunity with the potential for a hybrid schedule in the future. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, hands-on NetSuite experience, and prior experience supporting the construction, contracting, engineering, or project-based industries. This position will play a key role in month-end close, project accounting, financial reporting, and maintaining the accuracy of financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end close adjustments
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Support project accounting, job costing, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
- Assist with revenue recognition and contract accounting activities
- Prepare financial analyses and management reporting packages
- Monitor fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities
- Assist with audit preparations and provide supporting documentation
- Identify process improvements and help strengthen internal controls
- Partner with project managers and operational teams to support financial reporting needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- NetSuite experience required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial analysis
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with job costing, project accounting, and WIP schedules
- Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition
- Background supporting contractors, developers, engineering firms, or other project-based businesses
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
