Position Overview
A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support core accounting functions, financial reporting, and operational finance activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial results, supporting the month-end close process, and partnering with operations to provide insight into manufacturing performance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, and the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & General Ledger
- Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and trial balance
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Support internal and external reporting requirements
- Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis
Manufacturing & Cost Support
- Support cost accounting functions, including inventory and production-related accounting
- Assist with inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and variance analysis
- Partner with operations to ensure accurate tracking of production costs and efficiencies
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
- Assist with audit preparation and support external auditors
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within accounting processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Experience with inventory, cost accounting, or production environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
