Senior Accountant (Contract – 6-7 Months, Fully Remote)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team on a 6-7 month contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger accounting experience, advanced knowledge of NetSuite ERP, and a proven track record of operating effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute month-end and quarter-end close activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Analyze accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, and other business teams.
- Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with special projects, system enhancements, and process automation initiatives.
- Support multi-entity and intercompany accounting activities when applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Hands-on NetSuite ERP experience is required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA-track candidate preferred.
- Prior public accounting experience highly preferred.
- Experience working in a pre-IPO, venture-backed, or high-growth organization preferred.
- Experience supporting audit processes and SOX controls.
- Multi-entity or intercompany accounting experience.
