We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a manufacturing environment in Clayville, New York. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to contribute across general accounting, tax support, and financial close activities while helping maintain accurate and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger management, along with working knowledge of corporate and sales tax processes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records and support month-end accounting activities.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Assist with corporate tax and sales tax reporting by compiling information, reviewing records, and supporting filing requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of corporate tax return documentation and related accounting schedules.
- Maintain accounting records within BlackLine and other financial systems to support reconciliations and close processes.
- Partner with internal teams to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies, and improve day-to-day accounting accuracy.
- Support general accounting tasks for manufacturing operations, including account analysis and documentation of financial activity.
- Experience in staff accounting or general accounting roles with responsibility for financial record accuracy.
- Working knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support activities.
- Strong background in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Hands-on experience using BlackLine or a similar account reconciliation and close management platform.
- Familiarity with accounting practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and follow through on resolutions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a Long-term Contract assignment.
