We're seeking a Senior Staff Accountant who enjoys digging into the details, solving problems, and helping keep the financial side of the business running smoothly. This position offers a mix of core accounting responsibilities, financial analysis, and project work, providing exposure well beyond traditional debits and credits.
The right candidate is someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys working independently, and isn't afraid to ask questions or suggest a better way of doing things.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and key general ledger accounts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Analyze financial activity and investigate discrepancies or unusual trends
- Prepare internal reports and support management with financial data requests
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
- Support audit preparation and work directly with external auditors as needed
- Help strengthen accounting procedures and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Participate in special projects, system enhancements, and cross-functional initiatives
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Nice to Have
- CPA designation or progress toward certification
- Public accounting experience
- Experience with financial analysis, reporting, or process improvement initiatives
