Facility Maintenance Technician / Janitor Bethlehem, PA 7am to 4pm (1 hour lunch) Monday to Friday $18 - $20 per hourThe Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician ensures the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our manufacturing plant, warehouse, offices, and exterior property. This hands-on position balances interior janitorial duties with exterior property upkeep, basic facility maintenance, and material movement. Additionally, this role utilizes a forklift to safely transport parts, materials, and machinery across the facility grounds as operational needs evolve. Key Responsibilities for a Facility Maintenance Tech / Janitor
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization across all production shops, warehouse floors, offices, break rooms, restrooms, and customer-facing entryways.
- Perform routine floor care, including sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping using standard industrial custodial equipment.
- Manage daily waste disposal, ensuring trash, scrap, and recycling bins are emptied promptly and waste collection zones remain orderly.
- Handle exterior grounds maintenance, including seasonal property care, debris removal, sidewalk upkeep, and lot/walkway striping or touch-up painting.
- Operate a forklift to stage, transport, and organize materials, components, and finished fleet units across shop floors and yard areas.
- Conduct basic facility maintenance and assist operations teams with ad-hoc physical support tasks.
- Actively monitor the facility to identify and report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or necessary property repairs to leadership.
- Comply strictly with environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines, standard operating procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) mandates. Qualifications for a Facility Maintenance Technician
- Proven track record in facilities maintenance, custodial operations, commercial groundskeeping, or industrial general labor.
- Prior experience operating a forklift; must be able to maintain safe operations in both shop and outdoor yard environments.
- Comfortable working across diverse settings, including indoor industrial environments and outdoor conditions in varied weather.
- Physical capability to handle regular standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and carrying standard maintenance equipment and materials.
- Strong self-direction with the ability to manage daily checklists reliably with minimal direct supervision.
