Akkodis is seeking a Machinist II 2nd shift for a Contract to Hire with a client in Grand Junction, CO. The ideal candidate will operate and set up multi-axis CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components while maintaining quality and safety standards. Note: Mon - Thurs, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM Rate Range: $40/Hour to $42/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Machinist II 2nd shift Responsibilities include:
- Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to perform machining operations.
- Adjust machine controls, tool offsets, feeds, and speeds to ensure accurate production.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
- Monitor machine performance and identify worn or damaged tooling to maintain quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow all safety and 6S requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; technical or vocational machining training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency with CNC machine setup and operation, along with the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
