Warehouse Manager
Manages the logistics requirements through analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of the day-to-day order fulfillment and distribution center operations. Operational oversight includes functional areas from materials receiving/storage, order fulfillment, and inventory control activities. Responsible for managing safety, quality, customer service, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement of the distribution center. This position is a new role and reports to the Director, Distribution Operations. This is not a remote position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective warehouse management systems
- Design, implement, and maintain effective inventory control policies and procedures
- Oversee end-to-end physical order fulfillment
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the supply, material flow, and inventory management from manufacturing facilities and other vendors to the customer
- Manage communications with various cross-functional partners
- Responsible for understanding internal and external customer service expectations through establishing and maintain effective relationships
- Develop cost efficient strategies to meet service expectations and financial goals
- Coordinate staffing and resource planning of a small team
- Monitor staff levels to ensure flow of merchandise to meet deadlines and reassign resources to meet demands
- Effectively lead, educate, and develop staff by utilizing key performance indicators that enhance performance and achieve Katerra-wide goals
- Application of LEAN and continuous improvement policies to increase operational efficiency
- Implement and monitor warehouse security best practices
- Ensure adherence to local, state, federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, FTZ, etc.)
Required Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Bachelor’s in logistics, supply chain, transportation or related field or equivalent experience (generally year-to-year substitution)
- 5+ years of experience in a role overseeing logistics, distribution and/or warehouse operations including raw and finished goods
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, Transportation Systems, and Warehouse Slotting software
- Experience using SAP (or other ERP systems), WMS and TMS systems, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet
- Coach, counsel, and train direct reports to create an engaged workforce
- Budget-focused mindset and an understanding of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good reasoning, conflict-management, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Cal/OSHA
- Comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced company and adept at being successful in a change environment
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Experience with SAP is highly desired
- ISO certified warehouse operations is a plus
