Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Experience with EV thermal management systems, including battery, powertrain, cabin thermal management, and heat-pump architectures. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet. Working knowledge of 3D CAD tools (CATIA, NX, or 3DEXPERIENCE) to evaluate system packaging and hardware topology. Experience operating in fast-paced vehicle development environments with close collaboration between hardware, controls, software, and validation teams. Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to balance architecture, performance, integration, and implementation trade-offs.
Job Description
Execute and maintain the end-to-end thermal system architecture, ensuring system block diagrams, interfaces, and requirements remain aligned as the design evolves. Partner with coolant, refrigeration, and climate subsystem owners to decompose vehicle-level requirements into traceable subsystem and interface requirements. Integrate subsystem models into a unified system-level thermal model and analyze energy flow, dynamic behavior, and operating-mode transitions across the vehicle. Perform system-level trade studies and deliver data-driven recommendations to support architecture and design decisions. Ensure component specifications, model assumptions, and subsystem interfaces align across thermal domains and integrate seamlessly into the overall system. Lead resolution of cross-functional thermal system issues by identifying root causes, coordinating with subsystem owners, and driving corrective actions to closure. Collaborate with test engineers to define validation plans, correlate simulation models to physical test data, and reduce technical risk. Support design reviews, requirements reviews, and technical presentations by developing integrated analyses, performance data, and decision-ready options. Work closely with design and controls engineering teams to ensure thermal systems package correctly and support control strategy and algorithm development.
