Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional motion design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating a well-rounded mix of design, motion, and video.
- Strong hands-on 2D motion design and animation, particularly in Adobe After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Premiere Pro and enough editing ability to combine existing trailers, clips, B-roll, graphics, and audio into engaging short-form content.
- Portfolio that demonstrates actual footage incorporated into motion/design work, ideally through promos, commercials, branded spots, trailers, sizzles, or similar short-form pieces.
- Strong visual-design fundamentals, including typography, composition, color, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to create original visual elements and treatments, rather than exclusively - animating assets created by another designer.
- Strong sense of timing, transitions, pacing, and storytelling, with finished work that feels cohesive from beginning to end.
- Ability to work within existing brand systems and entertainment/IP guidelines while developing additional creative elements when needed.
- Experience owning projects through final delivery in a fast-moving creative environment.
- Proficiency with After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Figma experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Entertainment, streaming, media, agency, or strong B2C/consumer-brand experience.
- 3D/VFX experience, although 3D is not a core requirement for this role.
- Sound-editing or sound-design experience, including Adobe Audition or similar tools.
- Experience with AI-assisted creative workflows, including platforms such as Flora.
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Motion Designer to join its client's creative team on a contract-to-hire basis. This team is looking for a well-rounded creative who can combine original visual design, motion/animation, and video editing into polished, consumer-facing work. The ideal candidate can develop a visual treatment, bring that design to life through motion, and work with existing footage, trailers, B-roll, and other assets to create a cohesive finished piece.
This is not simply a Video Editor or a Motion Designer who only animates pre-existing graphics. The strongest candidate is comfortable moving between design, After Effects, and Premiere depending on what a project needs. Typical work includes 15- and 30-second connected-TV spots, promos, branded campaigns, trailers, digital/social content, and animation-heavy creative. Editing does not need to be the candidate’s deepest specialty, but the candidate should be comfortable taking existing content and turning it into an engaging, well-paced final spot. This is a fully remote role.
Day to Day
- Own creative projects from brief through final delivery across design, motion, and video editing.
- Create 15- and 30-second CTV/promotional spots using existing trailers, B-roll, clips, graphics, and content from multiple shows or partners.
- Combine real footage with motion graphics, typography, transitions, and branded design elements into cohesive finished pieces.
- Create original visual elements when the existing brand or asset library does not provide what a project needs.
- Develop and animate typography, graphics, logos, transitions, layouts, and other 2D motion elements.
- Edit and repurpose existing entertainment footage rather than exclusively cutting long-form/raw footage from scratch.
- Build branded and animation-heavy creative from scripts and concepts developed with the broader creative/copy team.
- Ensure strong pacing, timing, transitions, and visual storytelling across finished content.
- Adapt creative across CTV, broadcast, streaming/digital, promotional, and social placements.
- QC creative and support the review of work from external production partners.
