Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst / Technical Business Analyst to support a manufacturing systems assessment and data-mapping initiative. This consultant will work closely with Manufacturing, Operations, IT, and Oracle ERP subject matter experts to understand and document how business processes, applications, interfaces, and data currently flow through the manufacturing environment. A major focus of the role will be reverse engineering existing processes and legacy applications, including a Microsoft Access application and integrations involving Oracle ERP, ProNest/SigmaNEST, Data Sync, FTP utilities, and burn-table manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical systems analyst who is comfortable working in environments where documentation may be limited and can independently investigate systems, understand data movement, uncover business rules, and turn findings into clear technical and business documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery sessions and interviews with Manufacturing, Operations, IT, and Oracle ERP SMEs to understand current processes and system interactions. Document current-state workflows, including system handoffs, manual activities, decision points, and business rules. Analyze integrations and data movement across Oracle ERP, Microsoft Access, Data Sync, ProNest/SigmaNEST, FTP utilities, and burn-table systems. Reverse engineer an existing Microsoft Access application, including its tables, queries, relationships, reports, macros, and interfaces. Create detailed source-to-target data mappings and document how data moves and transforms between systems. Develop process maps, swimlane diagrams, data-flow diagrams, interface documentation, and system interaction diagrams. Analyze file exchanges and document file layouts, data transformations, dependencies, and business rules. Identify risks and dependencies associated with undocumented systems and manual processes. Support recommendations for future-state process and technology modernization. Present findings to stakeholders and incorporate their feedback into final documentation.
