Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to provide support and supervision to students at Greenon Elementary School during before-school and/or after-school hours. The Latchkey Aide will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children, ensuring their well-being and facilitating enjoyable activities. This part-time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children and fostering their social, emotional, and academic development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of students in the latchkey program.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork and respect among students.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding any concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the latchkey area and materials.
- Collaborate with school staff to support the overall goals of the latchkey program.
- Plan, organize, and implement the daily dispensing of snacks to participants.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience working with children preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, understanding, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to pass background checks as required by school district policies.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, typically in the mornings and/or afternoons on school days.
