Lunchroom Aide

Summary Greenon Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lunchroom Aide. This part-time position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, organized, and enjoyable lunch experience for our students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering a positive environment during lunchtime.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the lunchroom to ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere.
• Assist students with meal selection and provide guidance on proper dining etiquette.
• Monitor student behavior and intervene as necessary to maintain order and safety.
• Help set up and clean up the lunchroom before and after meal service.
• Assist with the distribution of lunch trays and condiments.
• Support students with special needs and ensure they receive appropriate assistance.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student needs and concerns.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and engage positively with students.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the well-being of children.
• Availability to work during lunch periods on scheduled school days.
• Background check and aide permit as required by school policy.
