Position Title: Forward Deployed Engineer, Agentic Platform Location: Remote Duration: 12 Months with possibilities of extension Pay Rate: $70-80/hr on W2
Key Responsibilities
Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) in Intuit's FD Program are client-facing engineers who build agent workflows on Intuit's agentic platform for clients across QuickBooks Online, Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES), and Intuit Accountant Suite (IAS). You'll work directly with clients to design custom agents for their needs, turn what works into reusable agents, and shape the platform itself based on what you learn in the field. Occasionally, you'll also enhance the products those agents run on.
What you'll do
- Partner with clients and accounting professionals to understand their workflows and define where agents can create real impact
- Prototype quickly, measure outcomes, and iterate based on real usage
- Design, build, and deploy custom agents and agentic workflows to production within 5 weeks, not quarters
- Explain tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including Intuit stakeholders and firm partners
- Turn successful custom solutions into reusable agents and components that other teams and clients can adopt
- Influence and contribute to the agentic platform, feeding field insights into its roadmap and building platform capabilities where gaps appear
- Make targeted enhancements to QuickBooks Online, IES, and IAS when a deployment calls for it
What you bring
- 10+ years of consulting experience
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years with AI-assisted SDLC
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, such as agents, tool use, orchestration, prompt design, or evaluation
- Experience building production systems, including APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with accounting and finance workflows such as reconciliation, month-end close, AR/AP, or multi-entity reporting
- An FDE mindset: ownership, speed, and comfort with ambiguity, paired with a client-first approach
- Willingness to travel as needed (up to 80%)
Nice to have
- Experience building or contributing to an agent framework or platform
- Background in solutions engineering or startups
- Experience in financial services or accounting
