Position Overview:
The Director of Operations is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring effective execution of business strategies, and driving growth across the company. This role is focused on operational excellence, team development, financial performance, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in business operations within a technical environment and is passionate about leading people, improving systems, and building a high-performance culture.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company’s operational activities, aligning resources and priorities to meet strategic business goals.
- Streamline internal processes and implement best practices to increase efficiency and consistency across departments.
- Drive profitability by evaluating project opportunities, managing overhead, and ensuring smart allocation of time and resources.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, track financial performance, and proactively address variances or inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with leadership to shape and execute short- and long-term business plans.
- Build and lead a strong management team by recruiting top talent, fostering employee development, and promoting accountability.
- Champion a positive workplace culture, promoting professional growth, teamwork, and strong internal communication.
- Oversee client relationships and service delivery, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Develop and maintain company-wide standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support scalable growth.
- Serve as a liaison between executive leadership, operations staff, and project teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in business operations, preferably within a professional services, engineering, or technical environment.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or management role with direct responsibility over people, budgets, and performance.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, optimizing systems, and managing organizational change.
- Strong financial and business acumen, with experience in budget planning, profit/loss management, and strategic resource allocation.
- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and build consensus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with operational tools and software such as ERP systems or project management platforms.
- Experience working in a professional services or consulting firm environment.
- Strong understanding of client service delivery, contract management, and organizational scalability.
