The Virtuoso Business Internship is designed for highly motivated college students who have completed their sophomore year and are eager to gain exposure to a professional business environment.
As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate across departments, participate in meetings, and support initiatives that impact the business. This is not a "sit and observe" internship. Interns are expected to proactively engage with colleagues, ask questions, seek feedback on work in progress, and contribute to team outcomes.
We are less focused on a specific major than on qualities that drive success. Success in this internship requires learning agility, intellectual curiosity, initiative, openness to feedback, and a genuine desire to work with and learn from others.
Virtuoso’s belief in the power of in-person human connection means interns will be expected to work in the company’s downtown Fort Worth office every Tuesday and Wednesday, with the rest of the workweek designated as work-from-home days.
What You’ll Do. Responsibilities may include:
- Providing support for business projects and strategic initiatives that span multiple departments, through effective coordination and communication
- Conducting research, analysis, and problem-solving activities
- Mapping processes and standardizing documentation
- Analyzing and formatting data to discern trends and patterns
- Preparing presentations and reports for consumption by leaders and executives
- Learning and utilizing business technologies and tools, including AI
- Participating in team meetings and collaborative discussions
What We’re Looking For. The students who thrive at Virtuoso typically are:
- Energized by regularly meeting new people, working with others and building relationships based on trust, not just transactions
- Proactive communicators who willingly reach out to others with questions and ideas, keeping stakeholders informed.
- Motivated by continuous learning, growth, and improvement
- Appreciative of candid and direct feedback on their work; embracing opportunities to improve
- Dependable, accountable, and committed to delivering high-quality work
- Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on broader business objectives
- Curious about how businesses operate, seeking to understand connections between teams, functions, and people work together
- Collaborative team players who prioritize collective success over individual recognition.
- Able to compartmentalize and keep several assignments moving forward
- Willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute wherever needed
This May Not Be the Right Fit If... Virtuoso is a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that consistently requires people to learn, adapt, and stretch beyond what they already know. While many interns say they are eager to grow, success here requires embracing unfamiliar assignments, welcoming iterative feedback, and plunging ahead before feeling completely ready.
Individuals who prefer working independently for extended periods, avoid frequent interaction with others, need extensive certainty before acting, or are most comfortable staying within areas they have already mastered may find our environment challenging.
Likewise, those who prefer highly structured work, predictable routines, or ownership of every decision may struggle in a culture built on collaboration, adaptability, and continuous learning. One of the biggest challenges interns have faced is transitioning from an academic environment that prioritizes individual success (grades) to a corporate mindset that rewards the collective success of a team.
The people who thrive at Virtuoso view discomfort as a signal that they are growing and learning something new and embrace it as an opportunity to develop new skills through experience and coaching.
