Location: Santa Monica Position Type: Full-Time We are seeking a motivated and analytical Financial Analyst to join a growing Commercial Real Estate organization. This role will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis, and portfolio performance reporting across a diverse real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial modeling skills, a solid understanding of financial statements, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models for budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, dispositions, developments, and asset performance analysis.
- Analyze property and portfolio performance, including occupancy, leasing activity, operating expenses, cash flow, and NOI.
- Prepare monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analyses.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and support underwriting and due diligence efforts.
- Track and report key business metrics, including occupancy trends, lease expirations, rent growth, and revenue performance.
- Assist with capital planning, debt analysis, and financing-related initiatives.
- Support month-end and quarter-end financial reporting processes.
- Prepare presentations and financial reporting packages for management, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Asset Management, Leasing, Property Management, and Operations teams.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic business initiatives and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A, Commercial Real Estate Finance, Asset Management, Valuation, or Investment Analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
- Commercial real estate, REIT, property management, development, or real estate investment experience.
- Acquisition, disposition, and development analysis.
- Asset management and portfolio reporting.
- Investor reporting and capital markets exposure.
- Experience building financial models from scratch.
