We are recruiting an Accounting Manager for a well-established company in the Raleigh area. This is a hands on role to include leading the monthly close, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, overseeing and developing accounting staff, and working closely with other accounting and business leaders. Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and related accounting activities.
- Manage and develop accounting staff, providing direction, coaching, and support with priorities and deadlines.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, profitability analysis, and other financial reporting.
- Oversee general ledger activity and account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and maintain accurate account balances.
- Ensure revenue and expenses are properly recorded and allocated across the business.
- Coordinate year-end schedules and documentation for external audit, tax, and other compliance activities.
- Oversee accounting systems and support future upgrades and system implementations.
- Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with finance leadership and other departments on accounting matters, business needs, and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting professionals looking to make the move into industry are also encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience managing or developing accounting staff with a willingness to remain hands-on is a plus
- Strong accounting, Excel, financial systems, analytical, and communication skills. Experience with process improvement or system implementations is a plus.
