Original job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the mobile team at a consumer marketplace company and take end-to-end ownership of its native iOS app. You will work closely with product, design, and backend partners to deliver a polished experience for creators.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build and ship iOS features in Swift, owning work from initial idea through launch.
Define and evolve the app's architecture as the mobile team grows.
Create fast, polished native interfaces and interactions.
Investigate production issues and improve reliability and performance.
Establish engineering practices and standards for mobile development.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

1 to 5+ years of professional iOS development experience, with hands-on native Swift engineering.
Experience owning a native iOS app end to end, including a startup or personal app published on the App Store.
Knowledge of iOS fundamentals, software architecture, MVVM or similar patterns, REST APIs, and asynchronous data handling.
Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and ship projects from unclear problems to finished outcomes.
Product-focused judgment and strong attention to UI and interaction details, ideally from a startup or design-forward consumer product environment.
Experience with AI tools, model testing, or agentic workflows is valued.
Marketplace or gamified consumer product experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $130,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

On-site, five days per week in New York, New York.
