- Maintain required conductor separation, bend radius, support spacing, equipment clearances, grounding, sealing, environmental protection, and workmanship standards.
Maintenance Troubleshooting and Repair
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution, motors, controls, lighting, grounding, heat trace, and related systems.
- Inspect equipment and circuits for damage, overheating, loose connections, contamination, corrosion, abnormal operation, and other deficiencies.
- Use approved meters and test instruments only when trained and authorized and verify instrument condition, category rating, leads, settings, and known-source checks.
- Troubleshoot using drawings, one-lines, schematics, manufacturer information, test results, and systematic isolation methods within assigned competency.
- Repair or replace defective components, document findings, and verify proper operation before returning equipment to service through authorized processes.
Drawings Materials and Work Planning
- Review work orders, drawings, one-lines, schematics, specifications, panel schedules, procedures, permits, and customer instructions before beginning work.
- Identify required tools, materials, equipment, labor, access, isolation, testing, lifting, and coordination needs and communicate shortages or conflicts promptly.
- Verify equipment names, circuit identification, ratings, voltage, phase, capacity, materials, locations, and installation details before performing affected work.
- Maintain field redlines and document installed conditions, changes, measurements, labels, and information needed for as-built records.
- Recognize requests or conditions outside approved scope and obtain direction before performing additional work unless immediate action is needed to protect people or property.

- Follow company, customer, site, and job-specific safety rules, permits, personal protective equipment requirements, barricades, approach boundaries, and instructions from qualified supervision.
- Treat circuits, conductors, equipment, enclosures, controls, and customer systems as energized until their condition has been established through approved procedures by authorized qualified personnel.
- Recognize and report hazards involving electricity, arc flash, shock, induced or stored energy, backfeed, grounding, excavation, lifting, work at height, traffic, pressure, chemicals, and moving equipment.
- Exercise stop-work authority when scope, system identification, isolation, test results, drawings, equipment condition, authorization, or required controls are unclear.
- Immediately report injuries, near misses, electrical contacts, arc events, utility strikes, spills, property damage, equipment failure, and other significant unsafe conditions.
- Apply lockout or tagout, absence-of-voltage verification, grounding, discharge, and release procedures only when trained, qualified, and authorized for the specific system and task.
- Perform energized diagnostic or electrical work only when it is justified, planned, approved, and supported by required qualifications, permits, boundaries, protective equipment, and controls.
