Now hiring for a Warehouse Shipping Supervisor (Direct Hire)
Location: Tuscaloosa, AL
Pay: $20-$22/hr
Schedule: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM-Finish
Job Duties
- Supervise daily shipping operations and coordinate warehouse personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
- Plan and prioritize outgoing shipments to meet customer and delivery schedules.
- Ensure orders are accurately picked, packed, staged, loaded, and shipped.
- Verify product quantities, shipping documents, and delivery information for accuracy.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, sales teams, and management to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Monitor inventory movement and resolve shortages, discrepancies, and damaged materials.
- Train, coach, schedule, and support warehouse and shipping team members.
- Assist with hiring, performance management, employee development, and disciplinary processes.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, inventory documentation, and operational reports.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
- Assist with loading and unloading plumbing, HVAC, and building supply materials as needed.
- Monitor productivity and ensure departmental goals are achieved.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Training in warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, or supply chain management is a plus.
- Basic computer skills and experience with shipping documentation and inventory systems.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse, shipping, distribution, or logistics experience required.
- Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience required.
- Experience coordinating shipments, inventory control, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and employee coaching skills.
- Building materials, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial distribution experience preferred.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
- Frequent lifting, moving, and handling of warehouse materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Ability to load, unload, stage, and inspect products in a warehouse environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced distribution and shipping facility
