Location: Ontario, OH
Pay Rate: $21.40 per hour
Schedule: 1st Shift 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Step Up. Snap In. Ship Out.
The Assembler is responsible for the precision mechanical construction, hydraulic/pneumatic plumbing, and electrical wiring of industrial actuators according to customized engineering designs and customer specifications. This technical role requires the ability to interpret advanced multi-discipline blueprints, schematic diagrams, and complex wiring layouts to build robust, high-performance equipment. Progression through the position’s compensation structure is directly tied to a rigorous training matrix that validates mastery of specialized skills like advanced tube bending, industrial conduit installation, and technical component integration.
Job Duties
- Construct, fit, and align intricate mechanical components to precise engineering and quality specifications using a wide range of specialized hand tools, torque wrenches, and precision measurement equipment.
- Read, interpret, and execute assembly operations directly from complex mechanical blueprints, customer specific design packets, bills of material, and custom engineering orders.
- Interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to manually measure, flare, and bend fluid lines, progressing to the setup and independent operation of automated computer-controlled tube bending machinery.
- Analyze electrical wiring diagrams and schematics to route complex conduit runs, pull wiring, and perform precise electrical terminations on control panels and actuator sub-assemblies.
- Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, and specialized rigging techniques to safely position, rotate, and transport heavy actuator units and materials throughout the production floor.
- Identify, document, and communicate material or design non-conformances to engineering and quality teams to prevent production delays or product failures.
- Engage actively with the site skills training matrix, demonstrating continuous skill acquisition across multiple assembly disciplines to maintain high cross-functional utility.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce material waste, elevate quality metrics, and champion site safety standards.
Education Requirements
- Previous assembly, manufacturing, or production training is beneficial.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- Ability to assemble products or components according to work instructions and production standards.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools, power tools, fixtures, or production equipment as required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect completed work for quality.
- Ability to maintain productivity while performing repetitive assembly tasks.
- Dependable attendance, teamwork, and commitment to workplace safety.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a mechanical assembly, industrial manufacturing, automotive repair, or heavy equipment production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to read and accurately interpret mechanical assembly drawings, fluid power (hydraulic/pneumatic) schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams (technical competency will be evaluated via a practical assessment during the interview and shop tour process).
- Proficient in the use of standard industrial measuring instruments, including tape measures, calipers, and micrometer gauges.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain internal forklift and overhead crane operation certifications within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous factory, manufacturing, production, assembly, or warehouse experience is preferred.
- Experience working on production lines or assembling mechanical, electrical, or consumer products is beneficial.
- Knowledge of quality inspection, Lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail are well positioned for success as a Assembler.
- Prior experience with industrial conduit bending, electrical panel building, or wire termination.
- Hands-on experience with manual or automated tube bending equipment for fluid-power systems.
- Background in interpreting customized, low-volume customer specifications rather than standard high-volume repetitive assembly.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift components, materials, or finished products weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to safely handle parts and operate assembly tools or equipment.
- Ability to maintain productivity in a factory environment while following established safety procedures.
Benefits
- Competitive Weekly Pay
- Comprehensive Benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Life Insurance and Disability Insurance for added peace of mind.
- Optional 401(k) Plan to help you prepare for the future.
- Safety-Focused Manufacturing Environment with opportunities for advancement and skill development.
