We are seeking an Accounting, Finance, Audit, or Finance Transformation professional to support a large-scale ERP and finance transformation initiative focused on improving operational performance, reporting capabilities, and end-user adoption across key accounting and transaction cycles. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on professional who understands both finance operations and ERP-enabled business processes and can help bridge the gap between business users, leadership, and technology teams. Important: This is a hybrid role requiring the resource to work onsite one day per week in either the St. Louis or Chicago office. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of one of these locations. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Support ERP and finance transformation initiatives affecting Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
- Partner with accounting, finance, operations, and technology stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure ERP solutions support both operational and management reporting needs.
- Evaluate current-state processes and assist in designing future-state workflows that improve efficiency, data availability, controls, and user experience.
- Participate in system implementation, enhancement, and optimization activities, including requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, training, and deployment support.
- Assist business users and leadership teams in defining reporting, dashboard, and data requirements to ensure critical information is accessible for decision-making.
- Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and testing activities to support system changes and maintain data integrity throughout the transformation process.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), document test results, track issues, and partner with technical teams to drive resolution.
- Monitor project plans, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and open issues while providing regular status updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with ERP teams supporting platforms such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar enterprise systems.
- Support automation, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance finance operations and reduce manual effort.
- Develop process documentation, training materials, and reporting tools to facilitate adoption and long-term sustainability.
- Participate in special projects and transformation initiatives as directed by finance and project leadership.
Preferred Background
- Accounting, Finance, Audit, Financial Systems, Business Analysis, or Finance Transformation experience.
- Exposure to ERP implementations, upgrades, process improvement initiatives, or finance transformation programs.
- Understanding of accounting and finance processes, including close, reporting, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and internal controls.
- Experience partnering with both business users and technical teams to translate requirements into practical system solutions.
- Strong analytical, testing, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Workday, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, or other enterprise ERP platforms is highly preferred.
