Cash Application Specialist
Location - Arlington TX. 3 days onsite / 2 days remote per week
Short term assignment (5 weeks) with chances of extension
We’re looking for an experienced Cash Application Specialist who can step into a busy Accounts Receivable environment and help keep cash accurately applied and customer accounts reconciled. You’ll work directly in NetSuite to process payments, including physical checks, match remittance information to open invoices, research payment discrepancies, and resolve unapplied cash.
A key focus of the role will be reducing aged unapplied cash and working through an existing backlog through detailed research, reconciliation, and follow-through. If you have strong AR or cash application experience, are comfortable working independently, and enjoy solving transactional discrepancies, this role offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact.
You will play a hands-on role in supporting the Accounts Receivable function, with a primary focus on cash application in NetSuite. Your work will include processing physical checks and customer payments, matching remittance information to open invoices, and researching discrepancies that prevent accurate application.
You will also help reduce unapplied cash and clear the existing cash application backlog by researching customer accounts, payment history, credits, short or overpayments, and other exceptions. In addition, you will support reconciliations, correct upstream AR data issues, maintain accurate transaction records, and collaborate with Collections and Billing to resolve payment-related issues.
- Hands-on experience in cash application, Accounts Receivable, collections, accounting, or a related function.
- Experience working in NetSuite is highly preferred.
- Proven experience applying customer payments and accurately matching payments to open invoices.
- Strong understanding of invoices, remittance details, customer accounts, credits, collections data, and unapplied cash.
- Experience researching and resolving unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, duplicate payments, and other payment discrepancies.
- Experience processing physical checks and managing high-volume cash application transactions or backlogs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and comfort researching transactional data.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize a high volume of transactions, and follow issues through to resolution.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with Collections, Billing, and other AR team members.
- An inspirational place for you to do your best work, be engaged in meaningful ways, and continually develop the skills, competencies and qualities that set our team apart.
- Compensation commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.
- Total Rewards include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Professional Development Program, Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).
