Akkodis is seeking a Business Marketing Manager for a Contract job with a client in Santa Monica, CA. The ideal candidate will lead strategic communications initiatives supporting consumer-facing products, subscription services, safety features, and AI-driven innovations while driving awareness, engagement, and media coverage through integrated communication programs. Rate Range: $48/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Business Marketing Manager job responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute strategic product communications programs supporting consumer technology products, platform features, subscription offerings, safety initiatives, and AI-powered experiences.
- Drive proactive media relations efforts by identifying and pitching compelling stories to technology, consumer, business, and mainstream media outlets.
- Create and execute storytelling campaigns that showcase product innovation, customer value, community impact, and platform engagement.
- Draft high-quality communications materials including press releases, newsroom posts, media statements, messaging frameworks, talking points, briefing documents, and executive communications.
- Organize and manage media briefings, product demonstrations, press events, and spokesperson engagements.
- Prepare executives and company representatives for media interviews, industry events, and public-facing opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Marketing, Legal, Policy, Partnerships, and other cross-functional teams to support product launches, campaigns, and communications initiatives.
- Partner with agency teams to develop and execute media strategies that maximize visibility and brand impact.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Eight or more years of professional experience in product communications, public relations, corporate communications, marketing communications, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience supporting consumer technology products, product launches, feature announcements, and integrated communications campaigns.
- Strong media relations experience with established relationships across technology, consumer, business, mainstream, and industry media outlets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop compelling narratives and translate complex product concepts into engaging, audience-focused stories.
- Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience developing messaging frameworks, executive communications, talking points, briefing materials, and media-facing content.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting communications and connection platforms, social media products, subscription services, or consumer engagement technologies.
- Experience communicating safety initiatives, trust and safety programs, location-based technologies, or digital platform innovations.
- Experience promoting consumer-facing artificial intelligence products and AI-powered experiences.
- Background supporting global communications programs and coordinating efforts across multiple geographic regions.
- Experience working with public relations agencies and external communication partners.

Pay Details: $48.00 to $50.00 per hour
