About KTA Super Stores
We owe our century of existence entirely to the people of Hawai‘i Island. From our modest beginnings in a 500-square-foot store in 1916, KTA Super Stores and our associates remain deeply rooted in a single, quiet philosophy: to humbly serve the community that sustains us.
Core Responsibilities
Ensure customer satisfaction and product quality by properly packing, wrapping, pricing, and displaying fresh and frozen meat, pork, and poultry products while upholding Department of Health sanitation guidelines.
• Packaging & Merchandising: Quickly and efficiently pack, wrap, price, and display Meat Department items. Fill and maintain showcase quantity and quality throughout the shift.
• Stock Rotation & Freshness: Rotate products by date to prevent outdated or spoiled merchandise. Reduce or remove items nearing or at expiration.

• Customer & Team Engagement: Promptly and efficiently greet, assist, and thank all customers. Assist with customer orders, answer incoming phone calls, write eye-appealing signage, and make PA sales announcements.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
• Environment: Continuously work in a chilled prep room that may be wet, noisy, and cold, with a strong odor of raw meat and seafood. Occasionally work on the sales floor to display products in showcases.
• Physical Effort: Continuously stand, walk, handle, and use fine motor skills. Frequently bend and squat to retrieve trays, store merchandise in chill boxes, and lift/carry up to 40 lbs when wrapping and pricing. Push/pull up to 80 lbs on a meat dolly to transport merchandise. Seldom climb ladders to store and retrieve supplies.
• Equipment Use: Frequently use meat trays, meat dollies, wrapping machines, and pricing machines. Line-use price guns and telephones. Seldom use case cutters, scissors, ladders, brooms, and dustpans.
• Safety: Continuously wear a back support belt while performing job duties and strictly follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
