Job Title: Senior Azure Infrastructure Administrator
Location: The Woodlands, TX, 77380
Work Schedule: Hybrid 3x per week with ½ day Fridays
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire

Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Azure Infrastructure Administrator to own the design, reliability, and security of our Azure and hybrid environment. We need someone who can lead infrastructure and migration projects, drive automation, act as the escalation point for complex issues, and reduce costs in our environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, identity)
- Onboard and manage on-prem and multi-cloud servers using Azure Arc (policy, monitoring, updates, Defender integration)
- Plan and execute SQL Server migrations to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Configure and tune Azure SQL MI/SQL DB (networking, security, HA/DR, backups, performance)
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, PIM, and RBAC
- Enforce security and governance via Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and Key Vault
- Optimize cost and performance through rightsizing, reservations, and tagging standards
- Document architecture and runbooks
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Azure infrastructure experience
- Working knowledge of Azure SQL MI configuration: VNet integration, private endpoints, failover groups, TDE/encryption, Entra authentication, and service tier sizing
- Strong Azure networking skills (VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Private Link, DNS)
- Solid Entra ID and hybrid identity experience (Entra Connect, AD DS)
- Experience with Log Analytics/KQL, backup, and DR planning
Preferred
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305)
- SQL Server administration background (performance tuning, Always On, T-SQL)
- Experience with AKS/containers, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Intune
- Windows Server and Linux administration
