Job Description
The UAT Lead will lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities across complex digital projects and programs, ensuring technology solutions meet business requirements and are ready for production deployment. This individual will serve as the central point of coordination across business stakeholders, project teams, technical teams, and third-party partners while establishing consistent UAT processes, managing testing execution and defects, and providing clear visibility into testing readiness and risk.
This role owns the UAT process, governance, coordination, visibility, and successful completion of testing but is not responsible for personally executing all business testing. Business SMEs and Process Owners will execute and validate business test scenarios and ultimately confirm that solutions meet business requirements, while the UAT Lead ensures the overall testing effort stays organized, on schedule, and meets established exit criteria before deployment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage UAT strategies, test plans, schedules, scope, entry/exit criteria, and governance standards across multiple projects and programs.
- Partner with business stakeholders, Project Managers, technical teams, and vendors to develop comprehensive test scenarios and ensure coverage of critical business processes, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.
- Coordinate UAT readiness by ensuring test environments, test data, system access, test cases, and business tester resources are prepared before testing begins.
- Lead day-to-day UAT execution, including testing sessions, checkpoints, schedule tracking, dependencies, issue escalation, and coordination with SIT, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Own the UAT defect-management process, including defect documentation, prioritization, triage, assignment, remediation tracking, retesting, and closure.
- Develop dashboards and provide regular stakeholder reporting on test execution, pass/fail rates, defects, risks, timelines, and overall deployment readiness.
- Validate UAT exit criteria, coordinate business sign-off, and provide testing input into go/no-go, production readiness, and deployment decisions while maintaining required testing documentation and evidence.
