5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist of related position In depth experience with R, Java, and Python programming Strong understanding of machine learning data structures and data modeling, and frameworks to create AI The Data Scientist will join an AI Innovation team supporting the design and buildout of a new Grievances & Appeals platform, with a focus on identifying and developing AI-driven capabilities that improve how healthcare grievance and appeal information is processed, analyzed, and operationalized. This individual will partner with project managers, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business use cases into AI solutions, rapidly prototype and evaluate machine learning and Generative AI models, and identify best-fit models from sources such as Hugging Face and Google Cloud Model Garden. The Data Scientist will design and execute model testing to evaluate accuracy, quality, performance, and cost; analyze results to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement; and refine algorithms, prompts, and model configurations accordingly. They will also troubleshoot deployed AI capabilities, document model selection and experimentation processes, and stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and techniques that can be incorporated into the platform Sound problem-solving skills to refine prototypes and troubleshoot performance issues
