Graham Windham is one of the first organizations in the New York City to implement Solution – Based Casework (SBC). Solution – Based casework helps children and families to be the solution to the seemingly insurmountable problems in their lives, from generational cycles of poverty, abuse, and neglect to unemployment, domestic violence, and severe health problems. About the Graham School – Residential Education & Treatment Center (RETC)
Situated on a bluff overlooking the scenic Hudson River in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, the Graham School serves over 300 at-risk day and residential students from the New York City metropolitan area. The first of its unique areas of emphasis is on the development of a therapeutic pro-social/pro-self-milieu. A sustained and concentrated focus on permanency planning (permanent homes for all our students) is our second distinguishing feature. Our family-driven service model recognizes the central role that families play in the lives of children and honors the very special bond that exists between children and their families. Our third distinguishing feature is our educational program. The Greenburg-Graham Union Free School District, located on campus, provides a year-round K-12 educational program for every Graham School student.

Our Residential Education and Treatment Center (RETC) routinely recruit’s for professionals who are committed to being difference makers in the lives of the children and youth that are served. The RETC routinely recruits for Child Care Workers, Case Planners, Supervisors, Recreational Workers and other positions that are critical to the program's business operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Builds the Graham Prep program out from the current pilot through providing individual and collaborative learning opportunities in academics and fun
- Includes youth in decision making for the program
- Partners with Youth Development and Bengals to ensure youth experience vocational programming, a variety of recreational options and leadership development
- Creates college exposure experiences for youth
- Finds expertise outside of Graham to bring additional meaningful program choices to participants
- Collaborates with Greenburgh Graham UFSD to ensure scheduling of tutoring as well as consistent attendance
- Directly teams with staff in Advisor roles to foster the building of youth motivation, peer leadership skills and a support system that nurtures success
- Fully engages families in the program through support, coaching and opportunities to both learn and lead
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any related field; Minimum of 2 years working with adolescents; Excellent time management and organizational skills, relationship building, active listening, problem-solving and presentation skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; team oriented; Energetic, self-directed and goals-focuses approach to the work with kids and families; Solution focused and dependable; ability to work with diverse populations; Evening and weekend hours may be required
