Position: General Cleaner Supervisor – Full-Time Schedule: 3rd Shift | 10:00 PM – 06:30 AM Location: Tampa International Airport, Tampa, FL Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour About FCS Services FCS Services is a nationwide janitorial and facilities management company operating across 10+ states. Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, organized, and experienced General Cleaner Supervisor to lead our overnight cleaning team at Tampa International Airport. The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily cleaning operations, supervising and supporting cleaning staff, ensuring adequate staffing coverage, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality throughout the airport. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example while assisting with cleaning duties when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support cleaning employees to ensure all assigned duties are completed according to company and client standards.
- Daily Operations: Assign cleaning tasks, coordinate daily schedules, and ensure adequate staffing coverage throughout the shift.
- Quality Control: Conduct routine inspections and quality walks to ensure all assigned areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Employee Performance: Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance. Address concerns and communicate issues to management.
- Cleaning Support: Assist employees with cleaning and janitorial duties as needed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing assigned areas.
- Restroom Maintenance: Ensure restrooms are properly cleaned, disinfected, and restocked throughout the shift.
- Floor Care: Oversee and assist with floor care activities, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and other floor maintenance projects as needed.
- Supply Management: Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, identify shortages, and communicate supply needs to management.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure employees follow all company safety procedures, airport regulations, and proper chemical-handling guidelines. Ensure required personal protective equipment (PPE) is used.
- Communication and Reporting: Maintain communication with management regarding staffing, operational concerns, incidents, and opportunities for improvement.
- Problem Resolution: Address daily operational challenges and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or employee-related matters promptly.
- Airport Security Compliance: Ensure team members follow all airport access, security, and operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or facilities management preferred.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures, equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to train, motivate, and manage a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to perform physical cleaning duties, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.
Working Conditions This position is primarily performed indoors throughout Tampa International Airport. The Supervisor will work in public areas, restrooms, offices, and other airport facilities. The position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting throughout the shift. The Supervisor must be comfortable working in a busy airport environment and managing a team during overnight operations.
