Part-Time Youth Driver
Weekends | Wichita, KS | Make Your Miles Matter
Looking for meaningful part-time work where you're not sitting behind a desk?
At EmberHope Youthville, our Drivers do much more than get youth from Point A to Point B. You may be the person helping a young person get safely to a placement, appointment, activity, or other destination during an important and sometimes stressful time in their life.
We're looking for dependable, patient, safety-minded people who enjoy driving and can provide a calm, professional presence for children and adolescents in our care.
Your Regular Schedule
Saturday & Sunday | 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
This is a part-time weekend position based in Wichita, Kansas.
That makes it a great option for someone looking for consistent weekend hours, but there's something important you should know before applying:
Important: Daytime Training Is Required
Although your regular work schedule is Saturday and Sunday evenings, getting you properly trained to work safely with the youth we serve takes time.
All new employees must be available for:
- New Hire Orientation held during daytime hours on a Monday
- Up to 7 additional days of required, in-person training during 1st-shift/daytime hours within your first 90 days
These training days are part of becoming prepared to work safely and confidently with the children and adolescents we serve.
If you currently work another full-time Monday-Friday job, please consider whether you will be able to arrange time away from that position for these required daytime training dates before applying.
Once required training is completed, your regular schedule remains Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.
What You'll Actually Do
Transportation is about 85% of this job, so yes, you'll spend plenty of time behind the wheel.
But you're transporting children and adolescents, not packages.
You'll be responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation while maintaining a professional, trauma-informed environment throughout the trip.
You'll:
- Safely transport children and adolescents to approved destinations
- Transport youth's belongings, medications, and necessary documentation when applicable
- Provide a calm, respectful, and supportive environment during transportation
- Follow established transportation and safety procedures
- Keep company vehicles clean and ready for use
- Monitor for and report vehicle or safety concerns
- Accurately document transportation and required communication
- Communicate professionally with youth, coworkers, caregivers, and other involved parties
- Assist with special events when needed
- Maintain all company-required training
This Is More Than a Driving Job
The youth we serve have experienced challenges and trauma.
That means a trip may not always be quiet or predictable.
You'll need to be comfortable transporting children and adolescents who may be upset, anxious, frustrated, resistant, or experiencing difficult emotions.
We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to drive.
We're looking for someone who can drive safely while remaining patient, professional, attentive, and calm.
Your presence matters.
Where Your Time Goes
