Original job description
Behavioral Interventionist Supervisor
Turn Your Behavioral Health Experience Into Leadership
Are you ready to take the next step from providing services to leading the people and coordinating the services behind them?
EmberHope is seeking a Behavioral Interventionist Supervisor to provide leadership to a team of PRN Behavioral Interventionists while also staying actively involved in the coordination of services for children and youth with elevated behavioral and emotional needs.
This isn't a supervisor position where you'll spend your day managing from the sidelines. You'll be part supervisor, part case coordinator, and part problem-solver, helping make sure Behavioral Interventionists have the support they need while children, caregivers, and professional partners receive consistent, well-coordinated services.
This position is ideal for someone with a human-services background who enjoys the clinical problem-solving side of behavioral services and is ready to use that experience to coach staff, coordinate cases, partner with caregivers, and strengthen the overall program.
In This Role, You Will:
- Supervise, coach, and support a PRN team of Behavioral Interventionists
- Help BIs problem-solve challenging cases and strengthen consistency in service delivery
- Coordinate referrals, eligibility, intake, Meet & Greets, quarterly reviews, case closure, and aftercare
- Administer required behavioral assessments
- Develop, monitor, and adjust individualized behavioral plans
- Track client progress and collaborate with caregivers, BIs, and professional partners when strategies need to change
- Conduct twice-monthly caregiver check-ins
- Facilitate BI Collaborative meetings focused on shared learning, TBRI practices, neurostimulation interventions, and consistent service delivery
- Review documentation, progress reports, and service records for accuracy, timeliness, quality, and compliance
- Coordinate communication among caregivers, Behavioral Interventionists, and other professionals
- Partner with the Program Manager on program quality, service needs, and client outcomes
A Leadership Role That Keeps You Connected to the Work
Approximately 75% of this position focuses on program coordination and supervision, with approximately 25% focused on administrative responsibilities.
You'll move between both sides of the role throughout your day.
One moment, you may be coaching a Behavioral Interventionist through a challenging situation. Next, you may be reviewing a behavioral plan, talking with a caregiver, coordinating a referral, monitoring documentation, or determining what needs to happen next for a child.
You won't just supervise the people doing the work. You'll help coordinate the work itself.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You're the person who naturally asks:
What's happening behind this behavior?
Is our plan actually working?
Does the caregiver have the support they need?
Does the Behavioral Interventionist have the tools and direction they need?
Are we documenting what matters?
And what's our next step?
You'll probably thrive here if you can:
- Build trust quickly while maintaining professional boundaries
- Coach employees instead of simply telling them what they did wrong
- Stay organized when multiple children, caregivers, and employees need your attention
- Turn behavioral information into practical strategies
- Communicate professionally with caregivers and other members of a child's team
- Have difficult conversations respectfully
- Pay attention to documentation, deadlines, and follow-through
- Recognize when a strategy isn't working and help the team adjust
- Balance compassion with accountability
- See challenging behavior as something to understand and respond to, not simply control
